LUCIANA, a shallow privileged American, joins forces with JOE, a jaded American expatriate killing time in a sleazy bar he owns in an unnamed SE Asian country, to kill the men who killed her sister DANNIE who was trying to "save the children" from a life of prostitution. As the story unfolds, Dannie's death leads the couple to discover that trafficking in children, despite a united public front by nations around the world to denounce the practice and outlaw its existence, runs like a deep and malignant disease in the most elite of circles. Tracking Dannie's killers leads to DENNISON, a shadowy Brit developer who, although well respected in the diplomatic community, secretly runs a bordello specializing in child prostitutes. In order to stop their investigation, PRATTANA, Dannie's 12-year-old adopted daughter who was once a prostitute, is kidnapped to lure them into a final climatic battle.
